Aveda Damage Remedy
NATURE’S REMEDY FOR DAMAGED HAIR
Fortify damaged hair with Aveda Damage Remedy™ – with quinoa protein, wheat protein and soy oil to instantly repair, protect and strengthen stressed tresses
MIDDLE EAST (July 2015) — Aveda™ The Art and Science of Pure Flower and Plant Essences and maker of botanically-based professional hair care, skin care, body care, Pure-Fume™ aroma and life style products, relaunches one of its most popular franchises, Damage Remedy™, the brand’s plant-powered antidote to the number one global hair care concern: damage. The design, eco-intelligent Damage Remedy™ packaging impresses a clean and contemporary tone, improving upon the company’s record of pushing the limits of post-consumer recycled material use.
All products in the line-up feature these eco packaging. Damage Remedy™ Restructuring Shampoo is packaged in a 100 percent PCR high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle, and the Restructuring Conditioner and Treatments are each contained in a 65 percent PCR HDPE tube.
“Damage is the leading global hair care concern – affecting six in ten women,” says Antoinette Beenders, Aveda global creative director. “Damaged hair is weak, prone to breakage, and more difficult to work with. Whether from color or texture treatments, blow drying or flat ironing, damage results from all manner of daily environmental exposure. Damage Remedy™ will repair, protect and strengthen all hair types from fine to highly-textured – creating the perfect foundation for beautiful styling.”
Damage Remedy™ features a duo of treatments that deliver on-the-spot results to repair, protect and strengthen hair. Damage Remedy™ Daily Hair Repair is a leave-in conditioner clinically proven to instantly improve hair by 26% with quinoa protein, and the once-weekly Intensive Restructuring Treatment strengthens damaged and chemically treated hair. The system also includes Damage Remedy™ Restructuring Shampoo and Conditioner.
“At Aveda, we view responsible packaging design, as well as the creation of our plant-powered products, as central to our Mission,” says Chuck Bennett, vice president Earth & Community Care at Aveda. “We minimize packaging as much as possible while adhering to strict quality and environmental standards. Our strongest initiative in this arena is to use post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials as much as possible, furthering our vision of connecting beauty and environment.”

Founded in 1978 in Minneapolis, MN, Aveda creates high performance, botanically-based products for beauty professionals and consumers. The company continues to innovate in botanical technologies, drawing inspiration from the principles of green science with ancient Ayurvedic wisdom to develop performance-driven, plant-based hair, skin, body and make-up products, and a comprehensive menu of ritual-based treatments for head-to-toe beauty.
Throughout the years, Aveda has pioneered new benchmarks of environmental responsibility in beauty. It was the first privately-owned company to sign the Ceres Principles in 1989 (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies) and the first beauty company in the world to manufacture with 100 percent wind power. Aveda was also the first beauty company to receive a Cradle To Cradle charter for its commitment to sustainable products, packaging and production. Currently seven products hold Cradle To Cradle certification. Since 1999, Aveda’s annual Earth Month campaign, held each April, has raised more than $26 million to support environmental projects around the world.
More than half of the fastest growing and best-run salons in the U.S. are Aveda distributors. Aveda products are available in Aveda Experience Centers and more than 7,000 professional hair salons and spas in more than 30 countries and at www.aveda.com.
