Dior Star Foundation adds instant illumination and perfecting effects to the skin like a photo shoot makeup look.  I’ve been using this foundation for the past few weeks, ignoring all others that I own and I can say that I am truly impressed. With new innovations in the beauty world coming up daily it’s becoming hard to find something that really stands out.  I feel like Dior Star is everything we’ve been looking for in a foundation! Makes you look like a STAR!

It’s available in 14 photogenic shades that are mix between warm and cool but more colors are in the warmer shades.  It’s a fluid foundation that feels air light and weightless on the skin and is designed for extreme long-wear.  The formula stays true to it’s original color and is created not to fade or oxidize.  The ingredients in the formula brighten the complexion by capturing and reflecting light on the skin without the extra shine. The foundation has a secondary skincare component with ingredients that promise to help erase dark areas, spots and minor redness resulting in clearer more luminous skin with daily use.  It works well in cool climates along with hot and is perfect for all skin-types!

The Star Foundation comes in a lovely glass bottle with a pump that easily dispenses the perfect amount of product without wasting or worrying about how your pumping the nozzle.

Final thoughts:

This foundation has been getting amazing reviews, so I had to try it.  No foundation can be perfect for everyone, but Dior Star comes pretty close.  It’s fabulous!  The formula is so lightweight that blending is effortless and buffs into the skin well. The finish of the foundation is very subtle, it gives a soft luminosity to the skin like its beaming and the skin looks brighter. I’m an NC25 at MAC and in the Dior Star I have shades 30 Medium Beige (which is more pink).  Tho it’s more pink it still works for me, I’ve being using Retinol A cream so my skin is a bit pink.  Next bottle I’ll try shades 021 or find something more yellow from their range.

NC25 MAC vs Dior Star 030 Medium Beige

It’s build-able so use just 1 pump and the natural skin still comes through but it evens out the complexion beautifully.  Build it up for more of a fuller coverage the it appears seamless and gives a healthy luminosity to the skin.  The coverage is light-medium depending on how much you use and how you apply it.  Dior launched a Black Egg Sponge (which I’m planning to get) which will give the foundation a sheered-out more natural finish.  For more coverage I apply it with #122 Makeup Forever Stippling Brush which works amazing with the foundation.  It’s amazing how the foundation can go from light to medium depending on how you apply it and your preferred level of coverage but the end product of both stay true to the essence of the foundation: Brighter, luminous, photo ready skin.

I wear a sheer pressed powder with the foundation on my oily t-areas and under the eyes to set the foundation and control oil.  It lasts all day (8+ hours) without fading and doesn’t feel like your wearing anything.

No foundation is magic, so don’t expect it to make skin imperfections like acne or scars disappear (you need to deal with the skin issues first to have great skin and concealer helps to cover special areas. I need to try the Dior Star Concealer soon too.)

    hey nilo
This seems like a must try… What kind of retinol A cream do you use? I’m thinking of starting a good antiaging routine and heard retinol is very effective.

It’s 0.1% – best to see a dermatologist to get the right one for you.

Hi Nilo! I heard its better to choose 1 shade lighter than your skin color when you purchase this foundation because the color gets dark later on your skin. Is it true?

Hi Nilo, just wanted advise on what shade to choose for myself. Currently i am using the shade Rattan in Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation. Because i have really pale yellow undertones would it be safe for me to purchase 021 Linen in this foundation?
