Illamasqua Sculpting Palette Review & Swatches

With the contour craze in all circles, every brand out there has designed a palette to accommodate the buyer’s demand for a good contour kit.
Mainly being offered in dual-palettes, only two palettes offer six shades to give that real professional contour. The Kat Von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes are cult favourites. Heck, I’m a massive fan. However, there’s a new kid on the block and in terms of accessibility internationally this newbie is set to be a favorite too – Illamasqua Sculpting Palette.
This palette is divine! The first thing to note is the brand. Illamasqua is a brand to be admired.
Highly pigmented, bold, brave and adventurous, the brand prides itself on their ‘You Are Beauty’ motto. It is so true! If you’ve ever visited their glorious concessions or even their flagship store in Dubai, you’ll notice the imagery and overall artistry of the brand.
Coming back to the palette,  the first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful packaging, which in it’s true nature is black and matte. Compact and sleek, the palette is also a must have when travelling as it won’t take much room at all!
Inside the palette : Six beautiful shades, that would work on most skin tones. The shades are:
Rush – a beautiful shimmery peach, perfect for that added strobe
Cirrus – a perfect banana shade set to make your ‘baking’ process a treat
Heroine – a perfectly cool, matte brown perfect for contouring and shading
Nimbus – a delightful grey shade for shadowing
Steal – a warmer bronze brown to add to the cheekbone contour
Create – a warm, reddish brown perfect for shading the hollows of your eyelid and your nose. It’s great for contouring on warmer skin tones too!
Made in Europe, I love that the product holds true to the European ethics and essentially means safer trials and tighter regulations. As you’ve probably gathered, I’m big on that!
Nonetheless, the formulation, texture, and pigmentation are a win and would certainly not disappoint. If you’re anything like me you’d probably like a few of the same products from various brands purely to mix it up. As mentioned above, this is certainly on par with Kat Von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes. Make it THE addition of 2016 to your makeup collection!
For an added treat, add the Illamasqua Contour Brush as the ideal tool for applying the gorgeous Sculpting Palette!
