NARS Under Cover Summer 2016 Collection Review

First of all, we all know the genius behind Nars never fails to surprise. Each product is well thought out and results in perfection. Yes, perfection for you! Nars is a cult favorite and it only seems to be expanding in popularity. Famed for being bold and of the highest quality, it goes without saying that this year’s summer collection – Nars Under Cover Summer 2016 Collection holds true to that.

I want to kick start this post by mentioning the packaging. Totally revamped, the new compacts are amazing! With the secret magnetic kick, these make keeping your new Nars goodies together so much more practical. A lot more compact too, the eye shadows come in singles and as I said they stick together so you need not worry about losing them unlike unnamed brand’s smaller singles. I can’t get enough of the new packaging and anyone who’s experienced them as of late will agree.

Onto the collection. Perfection comes to mind followed by LOVE. My adoration for the single eye shadows and their formulation has only increased knowing I’m a Narssist naturally. Highly pigmented, these shades adhere to your brush in one single swoop. The shades go from a gorgeous shimmery peach to this glorious sea blue. A nice little difference, dampen your brush before application and you can achieve that gorgeous wet look too!

The shades are as follows:

Topless – that beautiful shimmery pink/peach mentioned earlier

Tan Lines – a darker brown for that much needed smoky eye. Even apply on water line to give that Kim K trademark and make your eyes pop or simply blend into your crease

Pool Shark – a striking iridescent blue shade that reflects those gorgeous blue shades of the sea

Deep End – delightful teal green with the right amount of shimmer. Use this over black eye shadow to really make your smoky eye stand out.

The collection also boasts new Dual Intensity Blush Duos in Liberation and Sexual Content. Both, in my opinion, are stunning. With warm undertones and sheen, these are a definite hit. Liberation is more of a bronze with a benefit of adding a frosted glow. Sexual Content is more so of a rosy pink with the addition of a warm yet subtle peachy shimmer option. Again, I can’t stress enough how much I love the formula! Totally subtle but completely buildable, you can create many looks with these amazing additions!

Finally there are liquid lipsticks on offer! In three shades including a limited edition in the gorgeous crimson shade that is Members Only to my personal favorite Do Not Disturb.

Members Only – crimson red

Do Not Disturb – red with and orange undertone

Get Dirty – a warm rose nude

This collection is available online and in stores. Pop into Selfridges London and treat yourself to a demo by my favorite makeup artists!
